Elizabeth Joseph Election matters.

Hello my name is Elizabeth part of the 11:00am speech class and I will be talking about our recent group project focuses on Election matter the topics each group presented were Gender equality, education policies, immigration policies and the election process. Each group was assigned with creating a grouchier on the theme, getting an interview, and covering their topics such as American Vs Global view points, local and national topics, historical overview and more. I will be talking about the groups and what caught my eye with these presentations and what I did like on the presentations.

Starting with group 4 they were the first group to present to the class and they talked about gender equality group 4 consisted of Tatyana Matallana, Rachel Bardelas, Yanny Lesdesma, Najohlis Colmenares, Natalie Alarcon and Geovany Taberes. They started off with work place discrimination and also discussing the impact in the United States Globally they also talked about how workplaces should be equal environments where employees can work in a good place without any discrimination, harassment etc. I could agree with this knowing I do sometimes work with people who discriminate or harassing over an order and calling my employees out of their name. They also expressed leadership meaning that leadership shouldn’t only be one gender it could be both I agree with this as-well because people think men are the only people who can be leaders and it’s not true women can also lead. Current challenges is the woman political careers usually face discrimination and violence. Can agree when they said men can also experience violence from women. They also talked about abortion this was one of the topics that was interesting to me that us as women shod have choice for our bodies no other person should control our body choices. I believe this was the group that showed their interview and it was a good interview and the guest speaker did really well. There brochure was Also good at the end I loved how it matched their PowerPoint.

Now I will move on to the next group which is group 3 they talked about electorate and election process Kayla started off the presentation with local and national associations including  church programs, political parties and more I agreed with Kayla explained her part so well her part from this group was very important. Next group 3 talked about historical overview talking about how voting was in the 18th century to the present I could agree with this that everyone should be able to vote race and gender should never be involved. They also discussed Presidents like, Abraham Lincoln, Gorge Washington and more. They highlighted the importance of the election process in ensuring political stability, I never voted before but I still don’t understand the popular vote and the regular vote I May vote this year for the election maybe I will understand a bit more. Lastly I agreed with them on emphasizing the importance of voting and how everyone should be heard during the election.

Next group was my group which was number 2 we had to talk about education policies while doing this assignment with my classmates u believe we did good explaining the topic once again I’m not a huge fan of politicians but I do agree with the Harris/ walz on how they would change Kamala Harris plans to make education more accessible and also funding for for the public school. Seeing both parties I hope teachers get paid more it looks like we’re losing for teachers for them not getting paid enough and kids won’t be able to learn without having a teacher it’s really crazy that we have more Subs than teachers. We also showed our brochure at the end of the presentation working on this with my group was my favorite part I loved the way the brochure turned out. Even though we didn’t get to show a live interview with the professor everything still turned out great.

Lastly we group one talked about immigration they started off their presentation with immigration in the United stated versus globally. They talked about how Donald Trump often say immigrants are a threat I agreed with this because immigrants are not a threat but trump thinks they are with his viral saying “there eating the dogs and the cats” he was out of line with that and trumps been outline of line since he was president and even not as president he gets away with everything and it’s not right with us. They also did a overview of immigration policies I did agree with Alyssa part of the presentation people move due to factors even if it’s not in their control and we should’ve judge someone of how they came in they also explained the immigration process showing the steps that’s required to get into the United States legally. Adding  to group 1 on immigration 89% of republicans supports increased deportation republicans also want to add penalties to the immigrants for not coming to the United States the correct way which isn’t right. More on the democrats side 53% of democrats oppose the increased of deportation and expansion of the border wall along the United States Mexico border. To add immigration is a fundamental aspect of American history that has shaped the nations cultural social and economic landscape.

Overall I think all the groups did a phenomenal job with their presentation everyone brought great topics and added everything that was important to show and present to the class I also enjoyed my group presentation the most everything came out great my favorite part was working on the brochure everyone did their part expect for one person but everything did turn out great with the PowerPoint where everyone contributed. These presentations were interesting to do/ watch because Election Day is coming up and it really gave some good topics on what to watch during Election Day and who to vote for on both parties. And these topics make me want to vote asa first time voter.
