Isabella Camacho 11am Class

                     Isabella Camacho 11am Blog post

In the last two weeks, four groups presented chapters 1 to 17. Group One covered chapters 1, 2, 3, and 5. Group Two focused on chapters 4, 6, 7, and 8. Group Three addressed chapters 9, 10, 11, and 12. Lastly, Group Four discussed chapters 13 through 17. All groups shared strategies for effective presentation and public speaking.
Group 1 was the first to present, effectively breaking the ice and handling the pressure well. The group included Bryana Pumarol, Alyssa Betancourt, Alexander Redondo, Drew Raph-Lundeen, Dashka, and Anna Granda. Alyssa presented Chapter 1, which covered the history of public speaking from ancient times. I appreciated her clear summary and her calm delivery. Alexander presented Chapter 2, focusing on methods to build confidence. He provided good information, but including relevant visuals could have enhanced engagement. Bryana covered Chapter 3, discussing listening skills and the challenges of noisy environments. She seemed knowledgeable and well-prepared. Drew presented the first half of Chapter 5, which focused on connecting with the audience, and I thought she did an excellent job with a strong mix of visuals and clear information. Anna presented the second half of Chapter 5, discussing audience data collection. While she did well, using bullet points might have made her information more digestible. Overall, Group One performed exceptionally well, and I thoroughly enjoyed their presentation.
Group 2 which was the group I was a part of consisted of the leader being Elizabeth Joseph and the members being Julia Orchilles, Eduardo Hernandez, Jorge Mairena, Jaden Jones and me Isabella Camacho. I felt that even though I wasn't able to join due to technical difficulties and view how my team members presented, I believe they did an excellent job due to how the presentation was composed and how everyone except 1 person which didn't present did a great job.
Group 3 consisted of Kayla Keddon, Krysten Castaner-Molina, Melany Perez, Lauren Aguilar, Kevin Dorta, Laura Echavarria Vanegas, and Leily Rivero. Krysten presented Chapter 9, focusing on the beginning and end of a speech. She did well, balancing information and visuals to maintain audience interest. Melany covered the first half of Chapter 10, which addressed language fundamentals. While she presented good content, breaking it into smaller points of the chapter. Lauren presented the second half of Chapter 10, discussing audience-centered language. She communicated her points clearly. Kayla addressed the first part of Chapter 11, which involved integrating presentation media. She summarized her points effectively but might have included more images on the later slides. Laura presented the second half of Chapter 11, focusing on keeping presentations concise. Her chosen videos were informative but could have been shortened to highlight key points better. Finally, Kevin and Leily presented Chapter 12, discussing effective speech delivery and managing nervousness. They did well, but condensing their slide content and adding images would have improved their presentation. Overall, Group Three performed admirably, though more visuals could have helped balance the text-heavy slides.
Group 4 consisted of Rachel Bardelas Falcon, Tatyana Matallana, Natalie Alarcon, Najohlis Colmenares, Geovanny Tabares, and Yanny Ledesma. Rachel presented Chapter 13, focusing on informative speaking, and did an excellent job highlighting key points while incorporating visuals to engage the audience. Tatyana covered Chapter 14, which addressed various forms of persuasion. Although she provided valuable information, breaking it into bullet points and adding images would have improved clarity. Natalie presented Chapter 15, discussing the components of an argument and the effective use of claims, evidence, and reasoning. She successfully combined bullet points with images for a solid presentation. Najohlis and Geovanny jointly presented Chapter 16, covering distance speaking and media appearance tips. They both excelled with concise bullet points and relevant visuals. Finally, Yanny presented Chapter 17, which focused on different types of speeches, and she struck a perfect balance between information and images. Overall, Group Four did a fantastic job.
Overall, I thought each group performed exceptionally well. Additionally, Stephanie and Paulino did an excellent job with the introductions and conclusions, effectively framing each group's presentation. Public speaking can be challenging, but everyone handled it admirably, especially given the difficulty of speaking in front of an audience.
