Elizabeth Joseph blog

Hello, this is Elizabeth Joseph welcome to my first blog post and this will be my opinions on all the presentations even though the class is online I learned, this project was made me come out of my comfort zone as being a a group leader for group 2 I’m usually not the one to talk to my fellow peers but being in this class I’m getting use to it and I honestly love my group. I’ve never like presenting I usually find a way to not present a still get a grade but this class is helping me come over this fear and I love it for that. I can say that the presentations that were given in class by the students were really good and amazing. before taking this class I thought I wasn’t gonna like it at all but after being in groups and getting the hang of the speech class, this is actually one of my favorite classes to attend out of the five class that I’m taking and I’m happy that I’m actually learning for me because most classes I don’t learn from but this one I actually learn and I’m actually thankful that I’m taking it.

Starting off with the first group they were sharing tips on how to prepare the presentation and I must say they explained everything so perfect. They broke it down into steps like choosing the right topic or analyzing the audience, making sure listeners understand the fundamental principles behind the effective presentations. The presentation was straightforward and easy to follow with the first group presentation it did help me and my group prepare out presentation a bit better and we did update a little bit from what they were presenting in the class. This presentation was about how to start speaking in public by having construction feedback, gaining development skills. We have a chance to improve our communication ideas clearly, interacting with others and the chance to get feedback from maybe the instructor or students. What I also like that group one mentioned was that we will develop trust and feel comfortable speaking in front of others by gaining practice while receiving feedback.

Next the second group which was my group I presentations started off with introduction to public speaking, which is like getting you comfortable with trying to talk in public, like myself more of a shy person, and I’m not used to speaking in public or talking in a large group of crowds, even though it was behind the screen that we presented we talked about four topics developing your purpose and topic we get tips about determine your general purpose researching your topic, combining both your general purpose and topic to to find your specific purpose to phrase the thesis of your speech as you develop your topic we also talked about researching your topic which includes asking the following questions to guide your research for information who might be knowledgeable about this topic will organizations addresses the topic you are researching, and what events are happening related to your topic next we also talked about supporting your ideas which was chapter 7 which me and my partner Jorge which includes narratives examples, definitions testimony, facts and statistics. I believe my group did really good on presenting and giving good tips to the class while we were presenting and and I hope it helped anybody who needed any tips on presenting.

Second to last, we have the third group, which they shared really good invites on types of presentations, how to present a persuasive message, and how to speak on special occasions, they really navigated through each topic, seamlessly transitioning from one presentation to the next, which was an engaging experience for the audience. They also demonstrated a really good understanding associated with each form of communication and skill, guided us through the slides, delivering informative presentations and speaking on special occasions The presenter developed into the art of conveying information in a clear, concise and engaging matter. They also emphasize the importance of structuring the presentation effectively. They were well organized where their presentation I love this group was ability to simplify complex concepts, and make accessible to the audience was condemnable, I did grab some tips from them for our next presentation that we will be doing for the class. Overall, they did really good on presenting.

Lastly, we have group 4 which they address different forms of presentation. They provided valuable information, breaking it into points and adding images they were also discussing “components of an argument and great use of evidence and reasoning also distance speaking and media appearance tips they did an excellent job on their presentation they also covered different type of speeches which was a great balance for the presentation all the groups did an amazing job explaining all the chapters.

In conclusion what I learned from these presentations, my major is nursing, so imagine me being scared to talk in front of people I’m starting to overcome that fear this class is starting to make me see that speaking in front of people isn’t as bad as it thought, what I did learn was from my chapter, chapter 7 I did drop down some notes and kept it with me for future references so it could come handy in the future I was nervous about taking this class and having to be in groups but now it’s not as bad as I thought it would. I believe everyone in this class will benefit from public ski speaking, and have the chords to speak with without getting nervous, sweaty palms, or getting anxiety like myself. These group presentations also emphasizes the importance of overcoming your fears and talking to your classmates. It helps us accept our unique voices connect with other people deeply. Through presentation with work focus and dedication you learn a lot with this class, especially with the book. This class will help you with whatever major your choose.
